Get Involved

To protect everyone’s privacy and security, all communication is conducted exclusively through the Signal app.

No exceptions!

Step 1: Download Signal

If you don’t already have Signal, download it here:

https://signal.org/download/

Signal is available for iOS, Android, and desktop.

Step 2: Get Your Signal Username (aka Signal ID)

After installing Signal, you must obtain your Signal Username (we referred to as a Signal ID).

Important: Signal usernames work differently than usernames on most services. A Signal username is only used to initiate contact on Signal without sharing your phone number. It is not your profile name or screen name.

We require your Signal Username (Signal ID) — not your display name and not your phone number.

How to Find or Create Your Signal Username

  1. Open the Signal app
  2. Tap your profile icon (top left)
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Select Username
    • If you do not have one yet, Signal will prompt you to create it
    • Signal will append numbers to ensure uniqueness
  5. Tap Copy to copy your Signal Username.
Your Signal Username will look similar to: example.88

This copied value is your Signal Username (Signal ID).

Keep this ready — you’ll need it to complete the secure intake form.
